Children Caring About Cancer

Motto: A society free of childhood cancer.

Aim: Raising a cancer free generation through awareness and material aid where possible.
History of the club.
3C has only become a club of its own again this year, 2017. Previously it was a part of Red Cross, Gayaza High School. The reason why 3C was made a club of its own to crater for the endearing cancer in society today and we wanted to be help to the Cancer Institute especially the Children’s ward at Mulago through charity activities like fundraising, cancer runs, visits at the ward and offer help of any sort as well offer some essentials to the different families with patients. The President 2016-2017 was Nyakato Sharon and the Vice President being Tino Tracy at the time.

Currently, 3C is an independent club with a full committee as follows;

Coordinator- Namiiro Saudah
Our Patron being Mrs. Lubega Tracy, who has worked hand in hand with the people at the cancer children’s ward to provide us with the information we need to know about cancer like giving us cancer books which we put in the library to create cancer awareness to everyone since it is a fast spreading disease. We are grateful for their support in every way they have tried to make our club carry out its duties.

Future Plans of the Club
• We hope to have a cancer screening activity at a nearby primary school at the end of this term.
• We also anticipate partnering with Mt.St.Mary’s College Namagunga to organize annual Christmas party for the children suffering from at the cancer ward.
• In addition to the following we should like to offer as much help as we can financially by termly having fundraising activities to support the institute and also visits to the cancer institute.
• In partnership with the Uganda Institute of Cancer we plan to organize a conference about cancer awareness in August this year at Gayaza high School and we hope that other schools we be present.
• Last but not least, 3C is teaming up with the Interact Club Gayaza High School to organize and hold the annual charity games to fund raise for children with cancer as we did this year on 8th July, 2017 .

We are always open to any new ideas from the people around us so that together we can fight this nightmare called cancer and any help if offered.

EACH OF US HAS A PART TO PLAY SO LET US GET INVOLVED BECAUSE FIGHTING CANCER IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
