On Friday, June 13, 2025, the newly elected student leaders were sworn in and badged in a ceremony held at the Alfreda Chapel. This significant event, conducted in the presence of the student body, symbolizes the official commencement of their leadership duties and responsibilities.
The ceremony underscores the significance of leadership within the school. Dressed in their school uniforms, the new leaders and School councils collectively took an oath to uphold the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and unwavering dedication in their service. This pledge not only instills a critical sense of accountability among the student leaders but also prominently highlights the profound trust and confidence that the entire school community vests in its chosen student governance.
The badging process and handover of instruments of power is truly the pivotal component of the day as each leader is presented with a badge, entrusted a tangible emblem signifying their newly acquired authority and the inherent responsibilities that accompany their positions. A moment of enthusiasm overseen by the Deputy Head Teacher who formally commits the student leaders to consistently uphold the core values of GHS and to consistently serve as exemplary role models in an oath before God.
Subsequent to the oath, this moment was delightfully recognized with applause from the assembled students and staff who wholeheartedly and eagerly received the new leaders.
