Gayaza High School in partnership with Uganda Electricity Generation Company (UEGCL) printed Maths books to help Pupils in Gayaza C.O.U Primary School a.k.a Kadongo Primary School. The project known as Kadongo Maths project involves the S.1’s of GHS going to the community school to teach maths for one hour every week. Over time the girls have been teaching using the book but it was becoming a challenge since after the session the books would be taken by the girls. It was therefore important to produce copies to the host school and UEGCL having funded the printing of the first batch of books that the S.1’s were using to tutor maths to the pupils came in handy to once again support the printing.
The printed books were donated to the Community school by the Science and Maths club students as one of the activity for their clubs alongside the UEGCL staff that included Ms. Joyce Nakelema the Chief Human Resource Officer, Dr. Muzafali Kayongo the head of Research and Business Development and their PRO team of Noella and Lucy
Joyce gave a word of encouragement to the pupils and asked them to make good use of the books as they prepare for their PLE.
The deputy Head of Gayaza C.O.U, Ms. Olivia Nantambi was full of Joy for the support GHS has been giving them and thanked UEGCL for support GHS to keep supporting the school. She promised the school will take good care of the books for the betterment of the pupils performance.
GHS would like to thank UEGCL staff led by Dr. Eng. Harrison Mutikanga for the support. Changing lives lives will take all good people and we cant thank them enough for this support
