Named after Sir Joseph and Lena Hutchinson, who were staff of Namulonge Cotton Research Station. The School farm is a living testimony of the tireless work of the Hutchinsons to establish the school farm in 1954.
Hutchinson
“Hutch” as commonly referred to by the students, is located in the centre of the school.Named after Sir Joseph and Lena Hutchinson, who were staff of Namulonge Cotton Research Station, which is located a few kilometres from Gayaza High School. The School farm is a living testimony of the tireless work of the Hutchinsons with Pamela Goode, a teacher at the school then, to establish the school farm in 1954. This establishment, led to the introduction of the farm diet scheme in 1955. Hutchinson is the third largest house after Rhoda Nsibambi and Corby. Today, members of this house are called “Hutchites” and their theme colour is Purple. Their motto is “United For Victory.”
